چکیده

Purpose To investigate the feasibility of liver fat quantification in contrast-enhanced dual source energy computed tomography (DECT) using multi-echo Dixon magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as reference standard. Method Patients who underwent MRI including a sequence for estimation proton density fraction 2017 well DECT abdomen were included this retrospective, monocentric IRB approved study. Furthermore, patients with hepatic amount >5% examined 2018 and included. The final study group consisted 81 90 pairs examinations. Analysis parameter maps was performed manually congruent regions interest which placed parenchyma, erector spinae muscles, psoas major muscles. Results Mean patient age 61 ± 13 years. Median time between 48 days. resulted median 3.8% (IQR: 2.2–8.2%) compared to 1.8% 0–6.3%) (p < 0.001), Spearman correlation 0.73. Bland-Altman analysis systematic underestimation DECT, mean difference ?1.7%. Fat muscles = 0.257) 0.208) not significantly different MRI. Conclusions Liver muscular portal-venous phase is feasible good excellent analysis. While there an content are no significant differences

Clinical applications of virtual, non-contrast head images derived from dual-source, dual-energy cerebrovascular computed tomography angiography

Background: This study set out to evaluate the utility of cerebrovascular virtual non-contrast (VNC) scans. Materials and Methods: Conventional non-contrast (CNC) and dual-energy computed tomography angiography (DE-CTA) head scans were conducted on 100 subjects, of which 46 were normal, 15 had parenchymal hematomas of the brain, 13 had ischemic infarction, 22 had tumors, and 4 had calcified les...

Coronary calcium quantification using contrast‐enhanced dual‐energy computed tomography scans

The purpose of this study is to evaluate a direct measure of calcium burden by using dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) during contrast-enhanced coronary imaging, potentially eliminating the need for an extra noncontrast X-ray acquisition. The ambiguity of separation of calcium from contrast material on contrast-enhanced images was solved by using virtual noncontrast images obtained by DECT...

An Introduction to Dual Energy Computed Tomography

Introduction The idea of computed tomography (CT) was first introduced in the 1960’s with the development of modern computer technology. The first scanners were commercially available in the 1970’s, and grew in popularity through the 1980’s. The innovation of helical-scanning CT produced true volume imaging with sub-millimeter resolution. CT can be used for both anatomical as well as pathologic...
